How high up is your balcony? I had an Abby once, unspayed, who went into heat and jumped off my second story porch (old Victorian, 6 steps or so up to the front porch, and 10' ceilings. She returned pregnant and with a torn inner eyelid from jumping into the lilac bushes or something.
Anyway, just wondering--but Aida's little adventure produced the most lovable cat I've ever been with--whom I still miss after 14 years this coming April.
jawbone (going through strong cat withdrawal symptoms about now, and I shouldn't get a new cat until I have the radioactive iodine treatment--or two. I get so much pleasure seeing all the Eschatonian cat photos.)
Somehow this picture tickles my funny bone. He looks like he's poised for something...I hope something good comes his way to reward him for his patience.
jawbone -- I'm three stories up, and he makes me very nervous, sometimes. But, he seems to have a pretty good handle on the fact that he can't fly, nor jump quite that far. :) Of course, his reproductive drive was curbed before I got him, so that helps.
Thyroid cancer? My landlord beat it -- had his removed about five years ago. He's been clear ever since. .

Sandy -- He's poised for dreaming about squirrel meat in his maw! :) He's a stone cold killer. You did see the feathers incident, yes?

My kittens are huge squirrel fans - I bribe the squirrels to hang with them...
