Farewell, My Friends (Or Not)

My notebooks in decline... today, the keyboard wasn't fully functional (including a number of keys that were required in order to enter the password for the PC -- yes, I'm a nerd, and have accounts set up on my PCs). However, once I got it home, it seemed to be functioning somewhat normally. The notebook is the only somewhat-portable system I have (I still have to pack a 15" flatpanel display when I take it to the landlord's, as its display has been intermittant for months).

I'm typing this on the landlord's notebook, at the landlord's house (the WGOWC, as it is known); he loaned it to me for a couple of days, as he wanted me to get the video of their band I shot on Saturday captured.

Anyway, I don't know if I'll be able to continue my online interactions with any regularity, and therefore wanted to thank all of you for our time together, and for all the support you have provided over the past couple of years... just in case I'm unable to return on a regular basis.

And, of course, I have to post another Curly pix. :)

I see yer trouble son...

yew gotta CAT blocking yer power supply.

JP, you seem like a person who knows his way around hardware. Mr. left rev. loves to tinker and build 'puters from the stuff he picks up when people throw away their obsolete supplies.

Every 'puter we own (other than my still chuggin eMac) is a crashed together hybrid of free to really cheap parts. Admittedly, none of it is very FAST (Pentium 2, anyone?), but they're all functional and extra memory is purty cheap. I don't think we've put more than fifty dollars into any of his toys.

I know that fifty may be too much right now, but I'd be willing to send you parts and stuff (PLEASE take them!!!), if you know what you might need.

If things crash, just know that I'll miss reading you and seeing Curly everyday. Check in with us around the nets whenever you can and just let us know what might help.
