Break Day

I'm taking a one-day break from the bus-riding, apply-at-all-businesses project. I got a call last night from left rev, but since I didn't recognize the phone number, I didn't answer. I have to assume she's in town for a sorrowful occasion, but she said she wanted to meet up, and grab a beer. I hope I haven't missed the opportunity.

It's not that I want to be a habitual screener, but I kinda have to be. See, this phone number must've belonged to someone quite popular at some point, and since it's a pre-paid phone, there are no free minutes. Wrong numbers can eat into my phone budget very quickly, as I normally just put the minimum $15/mo. on it to keep it activated. If I haven't used the phone that day, the second I pick up the phone, it costs me a dollar. Then, it's just $0.10/minute.

Anyway, I had left rev's cellphone programmed in so I'd know to answer. Unfortunately, her cell service isn't diddley here in town, so she called from her hotel phone, and not recognizing the number, I waited until after midnight to check my voice mail. If it were a prospective employer, a call placed at 4 p.m. that wasn't returned until the following morning wouldn't seem out of place.

Anyway, I'm staying close to home today, in case she calls back. The MTA pass makes it soooo much easier to get things done, btw!
