Has anyone ever sold DVDs to these used DVD-selling places? I'm thinking I might be able to make my rent this month if I sell off most of my DVDs, but only if I can get $4-5 ea. for them, and add that to my cash-on-hand. There's one of these places on the way to the library, so I might take a handful just to see what kind of cash they offer for DVDs. I have quite a number of DVDs I have no intention of ever watching again, and of course, backups are possible for the small remainder.
I still have a couple of amps to sell, but no one's even nibbled at those on craigslist, these many months. And, I have a couple of guitars left -- one is the Ibanez Saber that has all its pickups ripped out, and has a Roland GK-2A pickup installed (for use with the Roland amp and guitar synth). The other is the Carvin Holdsworth H1 prototype that I got from Allan Holdsworth, but since I have no documentation that he gave it to me, I doubt I can get much for that. I'm guessing his buddy, Chris Hoard, who was my host on that trip, and witnessed the exchange, would be willing to confirm its authenticity, but...
Speaking of DVDs, I borrowed Bush's Brain from the Richland branch library yesterday. They don't have a large selection of DVDs available for loan at the branch; it's a really small branch, perhaps 3000 sq. ft. I estimate they had perhaps 300 non-children's titles, many of which were old musicals or arts-n-crafts how-to volumes, but there were some notables... the restored and colorized Reefer Madness was one (which I noted a young, female patron checked out behind me); Chinatown, another. However, since the Nashville Public Library supposedly has an efficient intra-library transfer and online reservation system, I'll see what other flicks I can get once I have a few hours to poke about online. Also, instead of selling some of my more radical political titles (Outfoxed, F/911, etc.), I'll donate those to the library. Got to do my part to keep the blue island blue, y'know.
Now, to explain my being here... carblogging. :) I'm trying hard to forget the photo of Doughy Pantload blogging from the needfully-ample driver's seat of his SUV, but...
Much like sex, there's no good way to carblog in a Mustang. On the hood, standing up, is best... for either. :) I tried earlier to get online, and was on long enough to get a half-dozen calls-to-action against ABC/Disney in my e-mail box... but I was interrupted by the arrival of the local constabulary (on what was surely a completely unrelated matter). Discretion being the better part of valor, I retreated to the confines of the condo until darkness falls, at least.
