I am a fifty year old smoker myself and I enjoy not peddling and going electric is a good thing. The Chinese are cranking em out so the price is really pretty good. Of course, if you have many hills to deal with it may not be practical but I get up them with peddle assisted motoring. Not fast but you get there. Top speed is only about 20 mph with a 15 mph average.
There are a number of really cool electric motorcycles on the market as of late and for about 2500 or so you can go up to 50 mph but those require a license of which I am without for another month and a half or so.
I'm just trying to encourage use of electric whenever possible.
