Had a few. They're varing amounts of crazy. The orientals do acknowledge that humans exist, but that's just to make the abuse more personal. My bombayish mini panther escorts me to the mailbox pausing to growl at the deer and check out who's been crossing the driveway.
Mo -- Avoiding the flashback from the tapetum lucidum is pretty easy, as long as you have a camera that will allow you to turn off the flash. Of course, you also need lots of good natural light, or the ability to lengthen the shutter speed, say, in a normally-lit home, at night. In the latter case, a tripod is recommended... I ruin a lot of my low-light photos by not holding still while the shutter is open.
Btw, my camera is a very inexpensive Canon -- Powershot A560 (was about ~$130, last year). A simple, point-n-shoot 7.1MP digital.
Oh! And you had asked some time ago about whether L.E. was a talker. Yes! Both he and Curly are very vocal cats. L.E. has a funny voice, though. .

I'm very envious you are able to get pics of your Siamese and actually see the beautiful blue eyes.
Most of the pictures I take of mine have the red in full force.
