I Hope He Keeps This Up

... 'cause his honor is really in question all across the political spectrum, and it seems so very sad to me.

I never thought badly of McCain, as a man, until these last few weeks -- ever since the first big economic shockwaves hit in mid-September, and he canceled his appearance with Letterman about an hour before taping began.

After that, it seemed that McCain's campaign just went into Completely Random Mode. It's like he has a staff of Chicken Littles that simply say, "You have to lash out irrationally in this way, NOW, or you will lose!"

I'm hoping he becomes more emphatic and specific when the wingnut base in his rally audiences starts screaming Secret Service-attention-getting thangs. That would be a classy thang to do, but I'm not sure McCain has any of that left in him.
