Yes, I put it up big, 'cause I want you to see this.
This is the best pizza in Nashville. I would put it up against the best pizza I have ever eaten, anywhere. It's seriously fuckin' good. It's from Coco's Italian Market (and they have a truly shitty web site, just like Cafe Coco, who own a stake in this... perhaps a controlling stake... but trust me, the food is completely different), and if you haven't been there since the folx from Albany have been running it, OMFG you are in for a treat. They call this one their signature pie -- meatball & mozzerella -- and it is truly an experience. The sauce is perfection, the cheese ungreasy, the crust unlike anything in the South, anywhere. Two slices is all you'll need to be very happy -- save the rest for the next three meals.
I also got a small sfogliatelle ($0.89), as I've never had one. How many times did I hear that word on The Sopranos?
Thank Jeebus for Coco's Italian Market, only three miles from my place. Salute!
