Well, that sounds like a valid comparison, doesn't it? Let me whoop up a handy chart, for those keeping score at home:
Tom Delay | Kos |
Reprimanded by House Ethics Committee numerous times | Held a conference in Las Vegas that made the GOP crap its collective pants |
Indicted in Texas on campaign financing violations | Held a conference in Las Vegas that made the GOP crap its collective pants |
Led a successful gerrymandering effort to assure GOP dominance in Texas legislature | Held a conference in Las Vegas that made the GOP crap its collective pants |
Misused FAA assets to locate protesting TX Democrats | Held a conference in Las Vegas that made the GOP crap its collective pants |
Known as "Hot Tub Tom" | Held a conference in Las Vegas that made the GOP crap its collective pants |
Receieved golf trips from Jack Abramoff | Held a conference in Las Vegas that made the GOP crap its collective pants |
Resigned from the House in disgrace | Held a conference in Las Vegas that made the GOP crap its collective pants |
Now, I'm sure this has nothing to do with the fact that there aren't 1000 people on Planet Earth who would spend their own money, out-of-pocket, to travel to Vegas to see what Brooks and his brain trustees would have to say, not even if the booze and hookers were free.
P.S. -- If anyone knows how to get rid of all that horriffic blank space above the table, HELP!!!!

Bobo is so absurd.
I'm techno-illiterate - so I can't help with the spaces; but I like the chart!
geoduck -- Thanks. I'm fairly HTML literate, but I suspect there's some wacky stylesheet info in the Blogger template that treats tables like a red-headed stepchild. I dunno... it's not that important, I guess. If I get too pissed about it, I'll just write my own template without all this gawdawful, confusing CSS positioning bullshit. :)

Except that, Jefferson, Kos didn't hold the conference. Volunteer organizers from his blog organized and staged it, with his blessing. The Wanker Brigade, who won't do anything without a quid pro quo, just can't wrap their minds around that much-ignored fact.
When the TradMedia latched onto this as the Next Big Thing, rushed to cover it, and put it on a pedestal, many who attended (including me) - once we got over the shock of so much attention being generated in so little time - knew beyond the shadow of a doubt that the wingnuts and their pawns in the press would try to find a way to knock it down again, especially after their initial disappointment of finding that Kossacks were, you know, normal people.
Sharoney -- I'll buy that for a dollar! :)
Seriously... I don't know or care what Kos had to do with the conference. I don't read Daily Kos regularly, but read articles linked from elsehwhere, several times a month. To me, it doesn't matter. He is perceived as being some mastermind behind the conference, and I doubt there's any way to reverse that. Eh -- doesn't matter, really.
The conference scared the shit out of the GOP and the traditional media. Of this, there can be no doubt.
