Apple

Vanderbilt, like the entire academic world, has a discount deal with Apple. So, I see a MacMini in my future... I need to get up to speed on the latest OS and just see what I can do with one. Plus, should curlytech remain a going concern, it might come in handy for those rarest of all creatures -- the Mac support call. :)

What's the discount? If you can get it for under $500, it might be worth it. You'd get a kick out of the podcasting features in iLife '06. If it's more than $500, haunt eBay. Or look around campus for a kid that wants to dump his.

And don't be too sure about infrequent support calls from Macinistas. I can give you a tip on a burgeoning market in that area: the Mac Mini upgrade. I'd pay you $50 right now to upgrade the one I got my wife. As it is, I'm almost tempted just to buy a new(er) one on eBay.

A MAC??? HA HA HA!!!

maybe the line won't get cut off when we talk throught the internets like it did last night. The line went dead and you stopped posting on Eschaton so i figured your internet connections went dead. That or you were so bored talking to me that you just hanged up without saying goodnight!

It was very pleasant to talk to my Nashville friend! But next time i want to hear the 2 cats meowing over the phone as well, d'accord?

Henriette is hungry, got to go feed her. Au revoir!

Plum P -- Well, as you guessed, the problem had nothing to do with my personal hardware; Comcast's been having these "micro-outages" in my area. They typically last about 30 seconds, but that's enough for a Skype call to drop. Last night's lasted a few minutes, but it was getting close to bedtime, so rather than call or e-mail, I just went to bed. :)

What can you do with MAC OSX? just about anything you already can do with a PC, except it costs more.

Fixed your typos... ;)
