Oh, LarryElvis cracks me right the fark up.
He's in full-kitten mode right now. He jumped from the arm of the crazy green checkerboard chair to the top-back of the big leather office chair in which I sit now. He then steadied himself on my back and shoulders, and leaped towards the sliding glass doors at the balcony. He immediately saw his reflection, and jumped backwards about two feet! HAW!
Curly's been wrestling with the kid on and off, all night. He hasn't been much for petting, tonight, other than when I first got home. I bet he'll beat L.E. to the bed when I head there in a few, though. That's when he likes to be petted, most. Then, and when I first wake up.
Anyway, that's how it is, this evening.
I'm only 50% happy with the scooter repair place, A-1 Funcycles on 1st St., a few blocks north of LP Field. Yes, the CDM starts just fine now, but they obviously didn't check the other problem -- the fact that there's a point on the throttle past which the scooter's performance goes down. That point is now lower on the throttle, but still achieves the best speeds I've gotten all along (40mph on level ground).
The other thing that miffs me: For $157, I should know what was done to the bike. All I know is the battery was charged, and something was done to the carburetor. That doesn't sound like two hours of labor, to me. The place is ostensibly run by the owner's son, who, in my interactions with him so far, seems to suffer from debilitating ADD. It took me 30 minutes to pay my bill, and to get a face shield from him that didn't fit. I was about to walk out and get on the CDM and leave before the face shield thang, 'cause I'd been waiting for 15+ minutes for someone to fetch one. When I headed towards the door, the guy ran out, handed me a shield for free, but it was used, and didn't fit my helmet, so... fat lot of good. Then, it was a few more minutes to get the tires properly inflated (somehow, the rear tire was nearly flat -- I'll keep an eye on that, yes), and I was on my way. Sans face shield.
On Saturday, I got a brand new one that DID fit, at American Motorsports, on Nolensville Rd., for $8. Took about 30 seconds. Also got to lust after that pre-owned Yamaha Majesty they had.
Work is going well. It's getting busier, and we're short-handed this week, so I plan to thrive on this... I like a quicker pace, and we've been pretty slow getting to this point, because of the holidays and whatnot. That's changing, though... we're coming up on a big milestone for the project. Fun ahead!

Jeff,
I am so happy for you! I know you couldn't have imagined this whole scenario even three months ago.
You get a job you're enjoying and Curly gets his little dude to play with.
Things are really looking up for you. Somehow you survived the long dark night of the soul and now you're coming back out into daylight.
All the best to you for a wonderful 2007.
LA Sandy -- Thank you, doll! Things do continue to get better and better.
