NOW: This is the terrain just WSW of me, and it reminds me of home... not so much my particular old neighborhood, which is relatively flat, much like my present neighborhood. Back home, most of the prominent features were more lengthy ridges, a kilometer long, or more. The height was about the same, though, and lots of foldy stuff like you see, above, topologically.
THEN: These were the woods I roamed as a kid. On foot, on bike. This is about 4x closer to the ground than the photo, above. I estimate you're looking at 40 acres, more or less. Our entire town was spaced out like this. I was like living in the suburbs of a bigger city, but with bigger lots. Ours was 150' x 450', and it was extremely middle class. House built in the 1920s, stucco, re-faced with brick in 1968. I remember that summer well.
Yes, Juddstown was a great place to grow up in the 1970s.
