Well, I'm Happy.

I've got a nice warm bed, plenty of food, good beer, a part-time job that isn't horrible.

Then, this.

Nope. Still happy. Thanks, Lexapro!

Hello, Sports Fans

Ohio is treating me very well. I get to see doctors, here, I'm watching what I eat, have lost 11 lbs. in the last two months, and I have a part-time gig cashiering for a small regional chain retailer. Life's pretty good!

And, Mr. Robot  season three starts this week, too!

How have you been?

Life Is Good!

... and getting better, I think. Looks like my echocardiogram yesterday was uneventful.

* Bed: Queen-sized mattress and box spring, two thick blankies and a comforter and flannel sheets! Even seeing one's breath in the morning inside in July doesn't necessitate all of that, but I do "sleep hot." The comforter is more than adequate at this time.

* Food: I get $194.00/mo. That's adequate, and better than a single old man might get in most other states. But you can't buy toilet paper, soap, deodorant, toothpaste, laundry supplies and laundry-doin' or even showers (yes Virginia, there are coin-op showers, here!) with SNAP benefits. So it doesn't cover everything.

* CPAP: Well, actually an APAP, which is an auto-adjusting PAP. It works great!  And records all kinds of data about my sleepin', so... excellent!

* Power: Now provided by marine deep-cycle battery, which has to be transported to "the grid" for recharging every other day. A solar charging setup should cost ~$200, and negate the need to move the fragile battery around. On a scooter.

* Scooter: Getting close to having it up and running. Need a new helmet.

* Toiletries: I have an application to receive $194 cash per month to cover all non-food items (hopefully this can cover fuel for the scooter, as well). I mentioned showers... ideally, I'd be able to shower every day, yay!  But that's not likely, soon. Three a week, then?  That's a trip into Mos Eisley, 12km away!

* Fuel: Gasoline for the car/scooter. I'm hoping LIHEAP will cover me for a rick or two of wood to burn in the cabin this winter.

* Begging: I'm going to beg Georgia residents to sit back and not read this, as they've been awfully generous in the past! In time, all of this will sort itself out, whether through Social Security benefits or freelance tech help to the locals, I am sure.

Drink Up, Shriners

Koozies rewl. Koozie weather rawks.

Not that anyone should care, but I completed the doctor-recommended* 40 minutes of heart-accelerating walking, covered 1.4 miles and came back with a blood pressure of 128/74, and a heart rate of 89bpm.

Not that anyone should care also, but now you can keep tabs on what I eat and how much I drink by clicking this link, or the My Fatness Pal logo, top right of this blog screen. Smoking, I will keep to myself.

* The psychopathological cardiothoracic surgeon made that recommendation, so maybe it was to KILL me. He said I should work up to that much constant activity per day, not that it should be fast, but that it be contiguous, without rests.

Making My Saturday Peace

"The number you have reached is disconnected or no longer in service..."

Newt ank. Still need some higher resistance coils to make it optimal, but it seems to be behaving now. And at $8, the price was right.

More Tunes: oren zero (2001)

I reckon I should clarify that the pickle factory stuff was recorded from ~1989-1999, and only "released" on mp3.com as a DAM CD in 1999. Those tracks are all analog, recorded on a couple of different 4-track cassette "portastudio"-type recorders.

The oren zero tracks are all digital, either done on a crazy big Fostex digital 4-track that used a SCSI Zip drive as media, or recorded into the PC directly into Acid Pro 3.0/4.0, depending on when they were done.

Fretless

Yes, I once owned a Yamaha BBNF-4 fretless bass. I love the sound of a fretless, although I never did anything particularly noteworthy on it, I did record this tune.

Caturday Delay

So, it's a Saturday.

Stranger is chillin' out downstairs in the bay window, where he cannot be photographed without a fiber optic attachment, so we'll get 'round to that, later. Perhaps.

It's almost time for SiL to go run the wrecker at Atomic Raceway, where they race nuclear wessels. That means quality time with the nephew. I've offered to go outside with him while he plays in the backyard pool, but so far, he's not interested. Maybe once Mom leaves.

I'd rather be outside!  Y'know, Cabin Fever. I got the keys to the Camry a while ago, and set off on my first post-op drive by myself. I went up to G-Vape to get a couple of coils like the ones in the picture, above. Genuine Kanger or not, coils are still a crapshoot. The Kangers are apt to last longer, but you still get the occasional one that turns to shit inside a week. But they're only $3/ea., so it's not a crusher.

Then, I went into Portsmouth proper, seeking the GasBuddy pricing so's I could fill up the Camry. SiL's about to head up to Waverly, and 1/8th tank ain't gonna cut it. I found gas for $2.659, which is better than the $2.799 average in New Boston. And I got to drive around, yay!

Okay, let's go do this.

[UPDATE] More.
