(One Of) The Hawk(s) At Peabody
The hawk, just outside my office window at Peabody. No shit -- 10 feet from me, here's this big-ass raptor! It stayed here for about 40 minutes. The whole building came to our office to see it, close-up. I should have charged admission! :)

wow I love him! So cool. He seems so unconcerned as people walk by him. I wonder why so tame?
I would have loved to be there to take photos! :)

It's not tameness -- it's absolute confidence. I can see why the Bald Eagle was chosen as the symbol for the country... all the raptors are so powerful, and unafraid. Franklin's choice was the turkey... I love that. :)

They are not afraid to swipe at humans on their search for prey or to protect what they have killed.
I've nearly been hit twice by the hawks walking around campus. They know we will likely duck and run.

This is so damned cool.

Magnificent! Echoing your comment about "absolute confidence," my first thought was "this bird isn't afraid of anything or anybody!"
