So, what do you get for your $2.19 here in Nashvegas? At McDonald's, you get two of first photo. At Del Taco, you get two of the latter photo, plus you get five "potato sticks," fried taters about the size of the sauce packet.
The McD's offering has approx. 1 egg*, 1/2 slice of processed American cheese, a few bits of pork breakfast sausage, a few bits of onion, red and green pepper. It may have sat under a heat lamp, depending on when you ordered it. I note that some stores have a "sell by" sticker to seal the paper wrapper, so yes, Virginia... there IS an eggy burrito holding pen at McD's.
The Del Taco offering has approx. 2+ eggs*, an oz. of freshly-grated cheddar, and a small amount of a mild rojo sauce. They're made fresh, only when you order them.
I think Del Taco's got this racket sewn up.
* None of these places crack an egg -- they're poured out of a carton, of course.

Head west young man. A breakfast burrito at some Mexican places in California could feed a family of five.
