NCR: Twiggy

Twiggy and another mama cat and 13 kittens were dumped on the side of the road in Smith County. All the cats and kittens were covered in fleas and were terribly thin and dehydrated. The kittens appeared to be from at least 3 different litters, but we don’t know what happened to the third mama cat.

We divided them into 2 groups to see if that would help the poor little mamas who were struggling to nurse all the kittens. Twiggy bravely tried to nurse her brood of 7, but she was just too weak and her milk dried up. The kittens were rushed to foster homes with other nursing mothers or to be bottle-fed, but only 3 survived.

In spite of her ordeal, Twiggy (who is not much more than a kitten herself) is very sweet and affectionate. She loves attention and purrs and snuggles when you pick her up. Please go visit her at the 100 Oaks PetSmart.

She has been spayed, tested negative for FIV/FeLV, and is up to date on her vaccinations.
