Leaving Gnashvegas

Going, going... not quite gone.

A man, a scam... Panama.

I will miss Amy.

Wanda on the sidewalk just outside my room at The Broken Spoke. Less visible, here. This is not a good part of town. Handyman goob for the motel suggested I pull her into the room, overnight. "Maybe not, but thanks for the suggestion!"

I gave the driver of this the Evil Eye out the window, as he was idling outside my room for sometime, and a box truck can fully well-conceal a Wanda, any day.

I fear not being able to find a nearby Dollar Gen for my travel needs.

This Baby Needs A Home

... so if you're in the PetSmart in Nashville West, go get her and take her home. She looks like a keeper to me.

NCR: Sampson

My name makes me sound like I am some sort of huge cat who would crush your legs when I jump onto your lap. Nothing could be further from the truth! You can see from my picture that I am actually a cute little kitten.

I am a laid-back kind of kitty who loves back rubs and attention from humans. Please come see me at the 100 Oaks PetSmart!

I have been neutered, tested negative for FIV/FeLV, and am up to date on my vaccinations.

UPDATE: I am reminded that I need to put up some success stories, too. So I will, starting today!

Remember Valentine, the cat that was in foster care for 5 years? He was adopted a week ago by an amazing family! Here he is, snuggling with his new person. Rescue work is difficult and exhausting at times, but it is worth it in the end!

NCR: Lefty

Lefty was abandoned in a storm after his mother was chased away by a dog. Barely a week old and covered in mud, he and his sister were saved by the dog's owner and eventually taken in by a surrogate momma cat, Domino.

He was so tiny for the first few weeks he didn't even register on the scale, but he had a big sister and three step-kittens to keep up with so he couldn't afford to be shy. He loves dogs, cats, pony-tails and anything that resembles a cat tree.

Lefty has been neutered and is up to date on all of his vaccinations

Call NCR at 615-596-4471 or email at loveallcats3@hotmail.com if you are interested in adopting Lefty.

NCR: Clotilde

Clotilde: If you take one look at my picture, I bet you can tell that I am always ready for playtime. I am such a mighty hunter that no toy mouse or jingle ball can get past me! If you come to see me at the Hermitage PetSmart, we can have a wonderful time playing together.

Please come check me out if you're looking for a very beautiful, sweet addition to your family.

I have been spayed, tested negative for FIV/FeLV, and am up to date on my vaccinations.

Obviously, not everyone who reads my blog (most, even) is close enough to Nashville to adopt from Nashville Cat Rescue. The point being, there are many fine adoption/rescue organizations out there, and there is likely one close to you. So please, if you're looking for a pet, please, please consider using such an organization as opposed to buying one from a breeder or pet store. So many beautiful, wonderful animals are euthanized in this country every day, and you would be a hero to me if you were to give one of them a chance at a loving home and a long, healthy life.

NCR: Twiggy

Twiggy and another mama cat and 13 kittens were dumped on the side of the road in Smith County. All the cats and kittens were covered in fleas and were terribly thin and dehydrated. The kittens appeared to be from at least 3 different litters, but we don’t know what happened to the third mama cat.

We divided them into 2 groups to see if that would help the poor little mamas who were struggling to nurse all the kittens. Twiggy bravely tried to nurse her brood of 7, but she was just too weak and her milk dried up. The kittens were rushed to foster homes with other nursing mothers or to be bottle-fed, but only 3 survived.

In spite of her ordeal, Twiggy (who is not much more than a kitten herself) is very sweet and affectionate. She loves attention and purrs and snuggles when you pick her up. Please go visit her at the 100 Oaks PetSmart.

She has been spayed, tested negative for FIV/FeLV, and is up to date on her vaccinations.

NCR: Kenna

Kenna: Like many homeless animals, I found myself in a high-kill shelter. They work hard to adopt out as many as they can, but there is just not enough space and too many animals!

I am one of the lucky ones who made it to one of the foster homes of Nashville Cat Rescue. I am now at the Hermitage PetSmart while I wait for the perfect person to find me and take me home. How about you?

I have been spayed, tested negative for FIV/FeLV, and am up to date on my vaccinations.

NCR: Jarvis

You can just tell, this one will be a hellion.

Jarvis: I was rescued from a high-kill shelter just in time! I was lucky enough to be rescued by the volunteers at Nashville Cat Rescue. I will always be grateful to them for saving my life.

Like most kittens, I am very playful. As you can see from my picture, I am also too cute for words. I even “help” my foster mom with whatever she’s doing. Please come to the Hermitage PetSmart to see me. As cute as I am, I won't be there for long!

I have been neutered, tested negative for FIV/FeLV, and am up to date on my vaccinations.

NCR: Serena

Serena gave birth to her litter of 6 kittens in a litter box at a rural animal control facility where they would have all been euthanized. She was an excellent mom to such a big litter of 6 active kittens.

Her kittens have all gone on to new homes. Serena is ready to retire from motherhood and settle into a safe and loving home of her own. Please come to the Cool Springs and take her home!

She has been spayed, tested negative for FIV/FeLV, and is up to date on her vaccinations.

NCR: Lilybelle

Note: This cat is a courtesy posting and not a Nashville Cat Rescue cat. Please contact Jenny at kittykiss9@gmail.com for more information about adopting Lilybelle.

Who wants a beautiful and affectionate kitty companion? Lilybelle is a ten year old blue point Siamese. She is great company and will follow you around waiting to be petted. She would prefer to be the only cat so she can have all the attention although she has lived with other cats. Please call Jenny at 615-406-7628 or email to apply for Lilybelle. She would like her own home and she is waiting for your lap!

Spayed/Neutered • Up-to-date with routine shots • House trained

Adopt-A-Kitteh Wednesday

Sylvie Sienna: I am such a classy cat that one name was just not enough. Actually, I'm not really all that formal (usually). If you want to adopt me and just give me one name, that would be fine with me.

If you come to see me at the Cool Springs PetSmart, you can see for yourself what a pretty girl I am. I'll be the one with all the people standing around my cage admiring me!

I have been spayed, tested negative for FIV/FeLV, and am up to date on my vaccinations.

Needs A Nashville Home

Dave: I have a little bit of a limp because I was rescued after being hit by a car. I still get around well since it doesn’t really bother me. I will be glad to show you if you come to see me here at the 100 Oaks PetSmart.

I am a very sweet boy in addition to being this handsome. I love to sit on laps and bump faces with humans all day. If you are looking for an affectionate cat, I'm your boy!

I have been neutered, tested negative for FIV/FeLV, and am up to date on my vaccinations.
