charlotte -- At one time, that might have been a nice guitar. Now, it's just a good guitar (well, "good" for certain values of "good"). :)

That's a late 1980s Ibanez Saber, which I got at Nashville Used Music some years ago, for under $200. I always loved the Saber; it's much like a Fender Stratocaster, but thinner, lighter, and the body contouring is way too cool. I call it an "M&M guitar," as the body is sharp at the edges, and fatter in the middle.

The guy at Nashville Used gave me a lot of grief, opining that I didn't "look like the kind of guy to want a pointy guitar." Heh! It's a PoMo Strat, asshole! :) Besides, one of my favorite guitars ever was an Ibanez RG-440; the Saber was a thinner, sexier version of that guitar, and I do think it feels better than most of the guitars I've played.

The Saber was really scuffed up, though, and I had other guitars when I did this... I needed a guitar to affix a Roland GK-2A hexaphonic pickup to, and the Saber became the candidate. However, it required my removing all the standard pickups, and the vibrato will not function with the GK-2A attached. :) Ah well.
