Well, I was fortunate to have still been working at Peabody College when the students were packing it in to go home for the summer. We vultures skulk about the dumpsters, and find perfectly serviceable goodies that Mom & Pop don't wanna haul back to
It's mine, now. And it works perfectly. The freezer even works!

Nice grab.
Dude! It's like craigslist but without the craig! And the list!
Oh, you know what I mean. Scooooore!
I think you should reserve one shelf for the Boyz' special splendiferous Aldi tuna reserve. That way you can post pictures of kittehs stampeding the fridge like B. Kliban drew. HA!
Smooches!
Cool--good for you.
Cats, scooters, and free refridgerators. These are the days!
Dumpster0diving on move-out day used to be a festive annual pastime at VU -- my former boss once found a sweater with the tags still attached in the bag it had come in from the fanciest store in Gnashvegas. Unopened packages of sheets and pillowcases, all kinds of appliances (as you discovered!!), computer supplies -- and sometimes the computers, themselves.
For about ten years, Goodwill Industries sent some 18-wheelers to collect all the goodies at the behest of the Earth-Day organizers, but that seems not to have happened in recent years.
Nice tag, jeffraham.
