It's A Man's Life

... in the British Navy!

Back from the vet. Dr. Amanda took care of LarryElvis, this morning. She was young, cute. So was the assistant! Dang.

Dx: He might live.

Naw, I'm jackin' ya -- he ought to live, and live well for years to come. She said he seems healthy and well-developed for his age, and that he may be a little closer to 1 year than 8 months. Probably viral -- very bad head cold, and a likely secondary bacterial infection, possibly due to the swipe he got on the nose at Nashville Humane (cat claws are breeding grounds for bacteria). The concern is that his temperature was 104.7; normal is 101.5, +/- 1 degree F. So, he got a shot of antibiotic, and he got the aforementioned Clavamox drops, too. And, he got a kitten care start kit (that was probably $30, right?).

$88.29

Shit, I didn't need THAT hit. Oh well. What're ya gonna do? Let the li'l snot factory continue? No way, Jose.

LarryElvis has done something that Curly has not -- ride the Chinese Death Machine! He's now made a 1.5mi. trip from NHA to home, a 3mi. trip to the vet; a 3mi. trip, back home. And, the fuckin' CDM died on me, twice, coming home. I can't wait until payday.

Glad to hear that LarryElvis is going to live to see another day.
Where did your "Feed Curly" button go? Santa is looking for the button instead of the chimney route to deliver the "kids" Christmas present.

Katie -- The carrier overlapped the deck of the scooter by about an inch, either side, but the width was a purrfect fit between the seat riser and the front firewall/steering box. He cried the whole way (Curly would do that in a carrier in a car), but it was a short ride.

anon -- Now employed, it would seem to me ungrateful/jerkish to leave the button in place. So, gone!

How well I remember the ungodly cries my boyz would make in their carriers on their way to the vet. Good grief! You'd think I was torturing them in there.

Siamese do have distinctive yowls and like to make themselves heard.

I've enjoyed Curly so much, and now LarryElvis is bringing back many fond memories for me of my two Siamese.

Glad LarryE has been doctored and hope he feels better soon.

Happy Holidays to everyone!

So what was LarryElvis' diagnosis?

dave -- Let me guess: You only come here for the pictures. ;)

Glad he's OK, Jeff. I was worried when I saw your note this morning. I know the $88.29 sux, but that's pretty cheap for a vet bill, hehe.

And yes (per your other post) give Curly as much attention as you can while they are adjusting to each other. I think the boys are probably going to be just fine w/ each other in no time, tho!

Doh!

Don't know how I missed that...

Actually, I do know how I missed that - that big fat "88.29" distracted me.

Oy! Though I've paid more...
